Anywhere on Earth

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anywhere on Earth ( AoE ) is an IEEE definition of dates . It is used to set deadlines for submission to international conferences. An AoE deadline will not expire until the relevant deadline has passed everywhere on earth. The last place in the world at which every date and thus the AoE period ends is Howland Island and Baker Island , which together form the only land mass in the IDLW ( UTC-12 ) time zone . Daylight saving time does not play a role in the expiry of an AoE period; it therefore always expires at 12:00 UTC on the following day. The information "Submission date is January 13th AoE" or "Submission date is 12:00 UTC on January 14th" are identical.
