Apocopes

Apokope ( Greek ἀποκοπή apokopé , German 'cut off' , 'omission') stands for:

  • Apocope (music) , sudden break in a melody or a sentence in the music
  • Apokope (rhetoric) , the omission of sounds at the end of a word for metrical or rhetorical reasons
  • Apokope (linguistics) , the elimination of sounds at the end of a word in the development of language history
