Apostate (from ancient Greek ἀποστασία apostasía , 'apostasy' from faith) is the name of the following people:

  • Julian (Kaiser) (331 / 332–363), Roman emperor in times of severe persecution of Christians, gave his opponent this nickname after his death;
  • Pseudonym for Maximilian Harden (1861–1927), German publicist, critic, actor and journalist.
