Apotex

Apotex Inc. (parent company: Apotex Pharmaceutical Holdings Inc. ) is a Canadian pharmaceutical company headquartered in Toronto (province of Ontario ). Founded in 1974 by Bernard ("Barry") Sherman (1942–2017), the company is the largest generics manufacturer in the hands of Canadian owners. It achieved generics-related sales of an estimated 1.6 billion Canadian dollars in 2016 , making it the 15th largest generic manufacturer in the world. According to its own information, Apotex employs over 11,000 people worldwide, 6,000 of them in Canada. Apotex divides its activities into the divisions Apotex Generics, Apotex Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Apobiologix and ApoPharma. Jeremy B. Desai has been CEO and Chairman since August 2014.
