Appuwašu

Appuwašu , also Appuašu , was in the middle of the 6th century BC. King of Pirindu ( Cilicia ). After the conquest of Cilicia by Nabu-kudurri-usur II , Appuwašu attacked Syria and so presumably withdrew from the Babylonian influence. 557 BC Therefore , Nergal-šarra-usur led a campaign of revenge against him, in which he was beaten, but escaped. Appuwašus' residence was Ura, previously Kiršu, who is identified with today's Meydancıkkale about 40 kilometers west of Silifke .
