Arabistan

The Arabistan region denotes:

  • in the narrower sense, Chusistan  - Arabistan is the politically incorrect name for the area of ​​Arab separatists in southwest Iran, but also for those Arab states that support these separatists - e. E.g .: Iraq
  • in a broader sense, all those areas in Iran that were once inhabited by a minority of immigrant Arabs, but which are now largely Iranized - e.g. B. also: the Gulf bank opposite Arabia on the Strait of Hormuz ( Hormozgan )
  • Persian: عربستان( Arabestan ) - today's Persian name for "land of the Arabs", Saudi Arabia (pers .:عربستان‌ سعودى Arabestan-e Sa'udi ), earlier also: (the) "land of the Arabs" per se, d. That is, from the Turkish point of view, the Arab areas of the Ottoman Empire or the areas outside of it - e.g. Central Arabia
