Working group of university publishers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The working group of university publishers (AG Univerlage) has been connecting numerous publishers from Germany, Austria and Italy since 2004. The working group organizes annual meetings to exchange experiences as well as joint trade fair appearances. The cooperative development of quality standards as well as the public positioning on questions of institutional publication infrastructures are increasingly moving into focus. Central are the seven positions on institutional publication infrastructures, which were developed by the AG members based on the "Seven Statements on European University Presses" of the Association of European University Presses .

The members of the AG University Publishers are connected to a research institution, reflect the profile of their institution in the publishing program, implement Open Access and a science-friendly rights policy and take measures to guarantee high academic and formal quality, and do not pursue profit maximization. They work together transparently and collegially, for example by realizing joint exhibitions at the Frankfurt Book Fair . The participating publishers publish around 1000 new publications per year according to high standards, well over half of them in Open Access.
