Working group for scientific psychotherapy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Working Group for Scientific Psychotherapy is a training institute for current psychotherapeutic procedures with offices in German-speaking countries. It offers advanced training opportunities for all people working in the therapeutic field who want to gain advanced training in current, empirically tested, behavioral therapy-related procedures.

A further training focus of the AWP is the training in procedures for the treatment of personality disorders. These include in particular dialectical behavioral therapy for the treatment of a borderline personality disorder as well as the scheme therapy according to Jeffrey E. Young . Further training courses mainly concern procedures that can be assigned to the so-called third wave of behavior therapy (connection of classic behavioral and cognitive techniques with strategies of acceptance, wisdom, cognitive distancing and dialectics).
