Arcoiris TV is an alternative, non-commercial and non-governmental Italian television broadcaster, financed by membership fees and donations. It was founded with the aim of giving facts and events a voice that conventional television channels have no place.
Arcoiris ceased broadcasting via satellite on October 13, 2008. The station was previously received via the Hot Bird satellite. Arcoiris offers free access to its services via the Internet. The viewer is not tied to certain program times, but can watch any film available at any time. Using the so-called streaming technology, the film can be viewed immediately while it is being downloaded. Alternatively, there is the possibility of downloading films in a high resolution.
