Aristeas (glass maker)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aristeas was a glass manufacturer from the 1st century AD.

Aristeas is only known from a group of signed glass vessels. The vessels are blown into a mold . The decorations are similar to those from the Ennion workshop . The signature, which is also cut into the shape, occasionally includes the inscription Kypros . However, it cannot be decided whether Aristeas comes from Cyprus or whether he ran his workshops there.
