Arnold L. Farr

Arnold L. Farr (* 1965 ) is an American philosopher . He teaches as a professor at the University of Kentucky . In 2005 he was a co-founder and first president of the International Herbert Marcuse Society .

Farr graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Masters degree and was awarded a Ph.D. PhD . From 1996 to 2008 he was Associate Professor and Director of the Africana Studies Program at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia . In 2008 he returned to the University of Kentucky as a professor. According to his own statements, his research interests are in German idealism , Marxism , critical theory , the philosophy of races , postmodernism , psychoanalysis and the philosophy of liberation. Farr is the author of Critical Theory and Democratic Vision published in 2009 . Herbert Marcuse and recent liberation philosophies .
