Assistant for leisure management is a profession in the field of conception, planning, implementation and billing of trips, leisure activities and events.

Assistants for the leisure industry compile information material, calculate prices and take orders or prepare contract documents. They book the desired events and take care of the billing. You can also be involved in the planning, calculation and implementation of leisure activities, events and the design of related information material.

Leisure management assistants are employed in particular

  • in travel and tourism offices
  • at travel event
  • at tourist associations
  • in amusement and theme parks
  • with bus travel companies, airlines, tour and cruise companies.

They work in offices, at customer counters, at trade fairs and, if necessary, abroad.

education

Training to become an assistant for leisure management is offered at vocational schools. The prerequisite is middle school leaving certificate (“Realschulabschluss”). Communication skills, customer and service orientation are expected as well as interest in mathematics, economics, German and English. The trainees do not receive any remuneration during their school education. In some schools you have to pay for the training, e.g. B. School fees or admission and examination fees.

The training lasts two years and begins with a half-year trial. Subjects are planning and service provision, marketing , cost accounting and controlling , practice of leisure management , language and communication, business and society as well as technical English.
