The Asstel Insurance Group is part of the Gothaer Group with its headquarters in Cologne and has been offering life, health and property insurance for private customers since 1997.
The direct sales of the insurance companies take place via telephone, internet, e-mail, fax and post. Asstel uses various cooperation partners such as Payback or Miles & More .
history
On August 25, 1895, the founding meeting of the Central-Sterbekasse LEO was held; on December 5, 1895, the LEO was approved by the Prussian Ministry of the Interior. For political reasons and because of the interdenominational business policy, the name of the LEO was changed to Kölnische Lebensversicherung aG on June 20, 1937
At the general meeting on May 5, 1953, the resolution was passed to convert the church insurance association against mutual liability into Cologne property insurance for mutuality . On May 11, 1959, the signing of the merger agreement between the Katholische Hilfswerk mutual life insurance , Berlin, with the Kölnische Lebensversicherung aG , which came into effect retrospectively on January 1, 1959.
On October 24, 1988, the contract on the equal order group between the Berliner Verein mutual health insurance and Cologne mutual life insurance was signed, which came into force on January 1, 1989. A year later, on January 1, 1990, the portfolio was merged with that of the Berlin mutual life insurance association .
In 1996, the board of directors of Berlin-Kölnische Versicherung and Gothaer Versicherungsbank VVaG started negotiations on the formation of an equal group; The merger of Berlin-Kölnische and Gothaer was approved by member representatives of the Berlin-Kölnische Krankenversicherung mutual and the Berlin-Kölnische Lebensversicherung mutual in November of the same year. As a result, Asstel ProKunde Versicherungskonzepte GmbH was founded.
In June 1998 the Asstel insurance group started with the renaming of the Berlin-Kölnische Lebensversicherung on mutuality to Asstel Lebensversicherung AG and the Berlin-Kölnische Sachversicherung AG to Asstel Sachversicherung AG .
The Asstel Lebensversicherung AG was merged in 2014 with effect from January 1 with Gothaer Lebensversicherung AG. The property insurance company is also to be transferred [out of date] to a Gothaer company by 2016 .
