As a facepiece of part of a protective suit or the will respirator , the respiratory system of the breathing apparatus carrier connects with the surrounding atmosphere, respectively. Depending on the requirements, the breathing connection is equipped with an appropriate filter system to protect against harmful substances and pathogens.

Breathing connections are used for:

  • Full face masks according to EN 136, which enclose the wearer's face at the chin, forehead and cheeks and seal it against the ambient atmosphere. Due to the window, the wearer has a more or less restricted field of vision, depending on the design. They are widely used in the military as well as in disaster control and civil defense .
  • Half and quarter masks according to EN 140, which only completely enclose the wearer's mouth and nose.
  • Mouthpiece assemblies according to EN 142. For its widest use in sports diving ( regulator and snorkel ), but also in Notatem- and escape devices such as the escape gear or mining. The sealing effect is achieved by sealing these devices with the lips. It is important here that breathing through the nose must be prevented with the help of a clamp or diving mask . A fastening strap can not always be found.
  • filtering breathing connections according to EN 149, EN 405, prEN 1827
  • Breathing protection hoods, helmets, blouses according to EN 270, EN 271, prEN 1835 and suits
