The Atlanta Marriott Marquis is a skyscraper in Atlanta . It is operated as a hotel by the Marriott hotel chain . The 169 meter high building was designed by architect John C.Portman, Jr designed. When it opened in 1985, it had the highest atrium at 143 meters. It only lost this record with the opening of the Burj Al Arab in Dubai .
The 42nd floor is home to a concierge lounge, which is only reserved for guests on the 42nd to 47th floors.
