history

When, in the course of the introduction of professional play in Hungary in 1926, the top division was also opened to clubs that did not come from the greater Budapest area, a professional club was founded in Miskolc. This was divided into the second division by the association and in their first season the Red-Blue managed to win the title and thus to rise to the first division in 1927.

Despite the commitment of well-known players such as Antal Siklóssy , Antal Pruha and Anton Powolny , the Miskolcern failed to keep the class. In the cup competition , however, the team sensationally reached the final, where they lost to Ferencvárosi FC with 1: 5. After only one season in the second division, the promotion took place again , but despite the commitment of the national player Zoltán Opata , it immediately went back to the second division.

It was only with the third promotion in 1931 that Attila FC was able to hold onto the top division permanently, even if they constantly played against relegation. The best final result could be achieved eighth place in the table, before they finished last with only seven points in 1936 and were relegated. Since the club was already in considerable economic difficulties, this meant its bankruptcy and it was dissolved.
