The admission procedure is the first step in carrying out the execution of a prison sentence. The admission procedure regulated in Section 5 of the Prison Act systematically belongs to the area of ​​planning the execution.

The admission procedure, during which other prisoners are not allowed to be present ( § 5 Abs. 1 StVollzG) consists of informing the prisoner about his rights and duties ( § 5 Abs. 2 StVollzG), from the medical examination and the presentation of the prisoner to the head the penal institution or the reception department ( Section 5 (3) StVollzG). This must be done immediately after delivery to the correctional facility .
