Tender portal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As a tender portal , u. a. denotes a website for tendering orders or for researching tenders.

These websites or similar media are usually accessible to the general public; a distinction is made between regional, national and international tendering portals.

Tender portals are intended to offer potential clients the opportunity to tender online orders - for example from the craft or construction sector - and thus, if necessary, to reach a larger group of bidders ( executing companies ). Every year in Germany alone, public contracts with a volume in the three-digit billion range are awarded. Furthermore, the use of a tendering portal is intended to reduce the time required for potential clients and to facilitate the comparison of prices, benefits and services. If there is free capacity and if you are interested in a possible order, the relevant companies can make an offer.

There are tender portals that cover a large part of the common job tenders, as well as tender portals that specialize in one and / or more specialist areas from industry, craft or construction. Tender portals sift through various sources of public tenders throughout Germany or beyond, depending on the concept, and make them available to the companies. Companies whose offers are made available to potential clients have the opportunity to generate orders via the portals and to win new customers.

There are different models for capping the costs incurred or for generating profit for the operators of the tendering portals. On the one hand, service providers (possible contractors) can register for a monthly fee in order to be able to submit their bids for posted orders. On the other hand, service providers (possible contractors) can use tendering portals that charge a fee for an order received without running costs.
