The ejector ( English ejector ) is part of the closure systems of firearms .

The ejector ejects the empty cartridge case after the shot has been fired or an unfired cartridge after it has been pulled out of the chamber by means of the extractor through the ejection window from the breech of the weapon .

With certain weapons, e.g. B. shotguns and revolvers , the design of the ejector is designed as a unit with the extractor, and the extraction of the cartridge case and its ejection takes place as one process.
