An automatic laboratory reactor (ALR) or an automatic laboratory reactor system consist of a laboratory reactor system that is automated with the help of a laboratory automation system.

They enable unattended operation overnight and on non-working days.

The advantages are:

  • increased security,
  • better reproducibility,
  • Increase in laboratory throughput
  • Improve quality
  • cost cutting

They are available as single and parallel reactor systems and are mostly operated in batch mode.
