Autosurf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Autosurf is a form of Internet advertising based on visitor exchange . In many cases, so-called pyramid schemes are behind it.

The users of the program receive money for displaying a browser window with constantly changing (typically: new advertising every 30 seconds) on their screen. In contrast to the related concepts Paid to Read or Paid to Click , the user does not force a reaction.

While registration with the relevant providers is free and only requires a valid email address , fees are charged for so-called upgrades that qualify the user account for higher payment. This is sometimes referred to as an "investment"; percentage "dividends" are promised as remuneration. Deposits in steps of around $ 10 are typical, and with constant use, withdrawals from around $ 1 / day up to ( promotional message ) "$ 3,200 / month".

The money to be paid out should come from the advertisers or through alleged financial transactions, e.g. B. "HYIP investments" ( High Yield Investment Programs ) are earned by the operator. In many cases, operators use new users' deposits to cash out their "winnings" to other users, in the manner of a snowball or pyramid scheme . In principle, one can assume that if the promise of return is greater than 10%, it is a pyramid scheme.
