Citizens' community for Bielefeld

The Bürgergemeinschaft für Bielefeld eV (BfB for short) is a free voter community in Bielefeld that is politically independent, close to the citizen and exclusively involved in the interests of the city of Bielefeld. The BfB takes part in the local elections. The representatives nominated by the community and elected to the city council exercise their office independently of the influence of regional parties.

The Citizens' Community for Bielefeld is the only community of voters in cities with over 150,000 inhabitants that has asserted itself in local politics for 30 years. In the 2014 local elections, the BfB won 6 council seats and 11 mandates in the 10 city districts of Bielefeld.

The current chairman of the BfB is Dietmar Krämer.

history

The BfB was founded on April 19, 1988; The founding members include Helmut Elges, Dr. Werner Roth, Ralf Schulze, Harald Leichert, Volker Hempelmann, Günter Salzwedel and Edmund Polanski. Maja Oetker joined them a month later. In 1989 the new group, called the Citizens' Community for Bielefeld, immediately achieved 9.6% of the votes and 6 seats in the city council. The six council members were Helmut Elges, Maja Oetker, Ralf Schulze, Dr. Alfred Zubler, Manfred Fröhlich and Hans Günther Schmidt.

  • Prevention of the large Laar landfill
  • Improvement of the Ravensberger Park and preservation of the director's villa
  • Development of a new drug concept
  • Abolition of the tree protection statute
  • Creation of an economic department to strengthen the economy.

Maintaining Bielefeld as a liveable and lovable city, administrative reform, local politics with common sense and debt reduction.
