The BBQ Education and Professional Qualification gGmbH is a non-profit educational institution and has a decentralized network in Baden-Württemberg with around 650 employees in 50 offices. BBQ is a company of the Biwe Group (Bildungswerk der Baden-Württembergischen Wirtschaft eV).
history
BBQ was founded as an educational association for vocational qualifications in 1995 in the Bildungswerk der Baden-Württembergischen Wirtschaft eV. CJD). In the years that followed, the “vocational preparation” business area was expanded through various projects for training and qualification as well as vocational rehabilitation and new branches were established. Gradually, projects at European level, school projects and programs for early childhood education were added. In 2002 BBQ was certified according to the DIN EN ISO 9001: 2000 standard by Certqua. In 2005, the training association for vocational qualifications was spun off as BBQ vocational education gGmbH. The education center of the Baden-Württemberg economy is the sole shareholder. In 2019, BBQ Berufliche Bildung gGmbH was renamed and became BBQ Bildung und Berufliche Qualifikation gGmbH.

With around 600 employees, BBQ is active in over 50 branches in Baden-Württemberg. BBQ has also been represented in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate since 2018.

Total E-Quality
For the fourth time, BBQ has received the TOTAL E-QUALITY award. With the award from the association TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e. V., organizations from business, science and administration are honored that are particularly committed to equal opportunities for women and men in the workplace. The award is valid for three years until 2022. The award is given with the Diversity add-on.
Quality management system
The BBQ education and professional qualification gGmbH is characterized by a comprehensive quality management. The fundamental basis for the success of further training offers, educational measures and personal services lies in the process quality and the quality of the service provision.
Certified by Certqua according to DIN EN ISO 9001: BBQ has continuously met the requirements of the international standard DIN EN ISO 9001 for many years. This has been confirmed every time through successful recertification.
AZAV carrier approval: BBQ also meets the requirements for carrier approval within the framework of the Accreditation and Licensing Ordinance - Employment Promotion (AZAV).
Since October 2016 BBQ has been approved by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees as a carrier for the implementation of integration courses and language courses.
Diversity Charter In 2014, BBQ signed the Diversity Charter. The Diversity Charter is a corporate initiative to promote diversity in companies and institutions. The patron is Federal Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel. The initiative has been supported by the Charter of Diversity Association since 2010. V.
