Back catalog

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Back catalog or back catalog (from English back catalog (ue) ) is a term used in the music industry and describes, similar to the term backlist in the book and publishing industry , the entirety of those music titles from a record company or a comparable company that are still available, but not being prepared as new releases or already being marketed. The new releases of the current season are therefore usually automatically part of the back catalog after the season has ended, provided they are still offered as available and are not delisted from the offer.

In addition, the entire work of an artist is referred to as a back catalog.
