Railway stations in Turku

The Finnish city of Turku is connected to the VR-Yhtymä railway network via three train stations in Turku . Specifically, these are the main train station, the Turku satama train station near the port and the Kupittaa train station in the district of the same name. From Turku there are railway lines in the direction of Helsinki and Tampere. Trains to Helsinki stop at all three stations, and the route to Tampere is not accessible through Kupittaa station.

Central Station

Turku Central Station ( Finnish: Turun päärautatieasema , Swedish Åbo centralstation ) was opened in 1876 and is the most important passenger train station in Turku.

Kupittaa

The station Kupittaa (Finnish. Kupittaan rautatieasema , Swedish. Kuppis järnvägsstation , abbreviation: Kut ) is located in the district of the same name , about three kilometers away from the main train station. The Turku Science Park is in the immediate vicinity. The station was opened in 1914 under the name Turku Itäinen ( Turku East ).

Turku satama

In the vicinity of the port of Turku is the Turku satama railway station (Finnish: Turun sataman rautatieasema , Swedish Åbo hamns järnvägsstation , abbreviation: Tus ). Trains start and end at this station, especially during the arrival and departure times of the Viking Line and Silja ferries to Stockholm in the morning and evening.
