Railway welding

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In contrast to spot welding, orbital welding is a type of welding in which two parts are joined together with a continuously running weld seam. The term orbit welding is used when robots are used for automated welding.

Examples of railway welding are the fusion welds of parts of the ship's side wall , of welded girders or also seams between the two halves of sheet steel canisters or motor vehicle tanks.
