Baron Badlesmere
Baron Badlesmere was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of England .
Award
The title was created on October 26, 1309 as Barony by writ by King Edward II for Bartholomew de Badlesmere , when he was appointed to the royal parliament by Writ of Summons .
The 1st baron rebelled against the king in the Despenser War . In 1322 he was captured, executed, his lands confiscated and his title stripped from him. In 1328 his son was reinstated as 2nd baron and in 1333 the lands were returned. At his death in 1338 the title fell in Abeyance between his four sisters and their descendants.
