Baron Clydesmuir

Baron Clydesmuir , of Braidwood in the County of Lanark , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

The title was bestowed on the Unionist Party politician Sir John Colville on March 5, 1948 , on the occasion of his resignation from the office of Governor of Bombay .

The current title holder has been his grandson as 3rd Baron since 1996. The family home of the barons is Langlees House near Biggar in South Lanarkshire .
