Baron Forteviot
Baron Forteviot , of Dupplin in the County of Perth , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
The barons' family seat was Dupplin Castle and is now Aberdalgie House both in Aberdalgie, Perthshire.
Award
The title was created on January 4, 1917 by Letters patent for the businessman and liberal politician Sir John Dewar, 1st Baronet . He was chairman of the whiskey distillery company "John Dewar and Sons" and had already been raised on July 24, 1907 in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom to the Baronet , of the City of Perth .
Today's title holder has been his grandson John Dewar, 4th Baron Forteviot , since 1993 .
