Baron Wensleydale

Baron Wensleydale is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Awards

On January 16, 1856, the title Baron Wensleydale , of Walton was created as a life peerage for James Parke . On July 23, 1856, he was given the same title again, this time as a hereditary title. Since he had three daughters but no sons, the title expired on his death on February 25, 1868.

On December 19, 1900, the title of Baron Wensleydale , of Blagdon and Blyth in the County of Northumberland for Sir Matthew White Ridley, 5th Baronet, was created as a subordinate title to the concurrently bestowed title of Viscount Ridley . Today's title holder is Matthew White Ridley, 5th Viscount Ridley, 5th Baron Wensleydale .

Estimated heir ( Heir apparent ) is the son of the current Viscount Hon. Matthew White Ridley (* 1993).
