Baron Wilson , of Libya and of Stowlangtoft in the County of Suffolk , was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award

The title was created in 1946 for the well-known Field Marshal Sir Henry Maitland Wilson . This was in the Second World War, Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in the Mediterranean and later head of the British joint staff mission in the United States .

The title expired with the death of his son, the second baron, in 2009.
