Barre Workout (from the English "bar" for ingots, reference to the ballet bars), a full-body's workout , which at figures and movements from the classical ballet inspired, to gymnastics elements - depending on the provider - and elements from the yoga or Pilates combined . Depending on the holistic nature of the workout and the orientation, the training contains fascial components (fascial from fascia ; Latin for connective tissue) and combines slow and fast movements into a structured exercise unit.

There is the so-called "floor barre" (floor English for floor: workouts on the floor / on the mat) and barre workouts, which are mostly performed while standing, often with the help of the ballet bar as a training device. Typical other training devices are small weight balls, so-called toning balls, Redondo balls, Thera bands or tubes as well as fascia rolls and balls.
