Farm kindergarten

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The farm kindergarten is a form of kindergarten in which the experience of agricultural activities and contact with animals and plants play a central role in the daily work. The farm kindergarten is either on an active farm or in its immediate vicinity and the children spend a large part of the time on the farm, or the kindergarten itself has a small number of farm animals and / or has its own garden and / or field .

In contrast to the forest kindergartens that are now operated in many places, there are only a few farm kindergartens in Germany and no supraregional organizational structure. First attempts to enable a nationwide exchange of experiences are made with an annual conference at the Evangelical Rural Youth Academy in Altenkirchen .
