Bavarian Quality Prize Special Prize 2013

The Bavarian Quality Award was an initiative of the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology . Horst Wildemann was the founder of the Bavarian Quality Award and has been chairman of the expert committee since 1992.

From 1993 to 2015, companies in Bavaria were awarded the Bavarian Quality Prize annually for outstanding performance in the field of holistic company quality. The participating companies or production facilities had to be located in Bavaria and have at least 30% of their turnover in Germany. They could be profit-oriented or charitable companies, companies or foundations and could belong to domestic or foreign owners.

The award was also given to Bavarian municipalities that created optimal, business-friendly framework conditions through consistent pursuit of the quality concept.

The award was given in five categories: industrial companies, craft, trade, business-oriented service providers and business-friendly communities.

The aim of the quality award was to improve the understanding of the requirements for excellent quality, to highlight the advantages associated with a successful quality strategy, to emphasize the constantly growing importance of quality as a competitive factor and, moreover, to appreciate the efforts of municipalities to promote efficient economic development.
