Bekkhild

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bekkhild is a mythological figure from the Nordic legends. In the Völsunga saga she is the sister of Brynhild and the wife of Heimir . She learned handicrafts differently than Brynhild and stayed at home. The name Bekkhild is derived from the Nordic bekkr , which means "bank" (after the long benches in the old Scandinavian hall).
