Belgius
Belgius (also Βόλγιος , Bólgios ) was a Celtic tribal leader in the 3rd century BC. Chr.
He was the leader of a band of Celtic warriors who died in 280 BC. During a migration of the Celtic tribes to the Balkans in the Empire Macedonia invaded. The Macedonian King Ptolemy Keraunos , who went to meet them, rejected an offer from Belgius to withdraw for a ransom. In the battle that followed, Belgius inflicted a severe defeat on Ptolemy and then plundered his army through Macedonia until an action by Sosthenes of Macedonia forced him to withdraw. His further life is unknown.
