Bennie Museum

The Bennie Museum is a museum in the Scottish city ​​of Bathgate in the West Lothian council area . The traditional cottage in which it is set up was added to the Scottish List of Monuments in 1998 in Monument Category C.

The museum, which opened in 1989, is run by a non-profit association. The small museum deals with Bathgate's local history. Different subject areas are covered in which everyday objects from past centuries as well as tools from regional industrial history are shown. In addition, historical information on the subject areas is given.

The Bennie Museum is on Mansefield Street in central Bathgate. The oldest part of the long row of cottages dates back to the 18th century. The youngest were built in the middle of the 19th century at the latest. The individual buildings were combined into one unit. The saddle roof of the one-story, eaves-standing building is covered with red roof tiles. Only a small strip above the eaves is covered with slate. In 1988, with the establishment of the museum, the building was restored.
