Bergantine

Bergantine (also Bergantin ) was an Italian type of ship in the form of a smaller galley , which was mainly used for courier services from the 13th to the 17th century. The sails consisted of a mast with a latin sail and a latin rod. The rowed Berg Ballantine with up to 16 belts on each side and a rower each belt. In the 16th and 17th centuries, mountain canteens with two rowers per oar were also in use.
