Bergische Bautage
The Bergische Bautage is a public fair for everything to do with building and living in Bergisch Gladbach . It is considered the largest construction fair in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The first fair , known as the Gladbach Construction Days , took place in 1996. At the time, fewer than twenty companies attended this local event. The number of exhibitors rose steadily. In 2008 there were already over two hundred from all over the Rhineland. The city center of Bergisch Gladbach serves as the exhibition center. The exhibition areas are housed in the Bergischer Löwe community center and in numerous exhibition tents.
The Bergische Bautage takes place annually on a weekend in autumn. Real estate agents offer land, apartments, houses and commercial properties. Construction companies and prefabricated house manufacturers are represented. Craftsman companies offer their services and show products or demonstrate manual production processes. Modern heating systems are presented as well as electrical and solar technology and ecological building. Chimney sweeps and other specialists provide information about the possibilities of thermal insulation and energy advice. The manufacturers of open fireplaces and winter gardens advertise their products. Roofers have set up a roof competence center. Regional water and energy suppliers as well as waste disposal companies are represented. Credit institutions and financial intermediaries inform interested parties about their own financing offers and about public funding opportunities. The planning and organization of the Bergische Bautage has been carried out by Blickfang Messebau GmbH in Cologne-Dellbrück since 2012.
The administrations of the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis and the city of Bergisch Gladbach have a joint stand with employees from the building authorities, the expert committees , the surveying and cadastral office, housing subsidies and regional development.

During the Bergische Bautage 2008, the Villa Zanders , which is located directly next to the community center , showed the exhibition Furnishing - Life in a Cardboard Box and thus complemented the special show " Beautiful Living" that ran during the construction days .
