Best Current Practice ( BCP ; German as best current practice ) is a term in the context of the work of the IETF to RFCs . It is basically the same as a best practice with an additional temporal restriction until the release of a new, further improved version . Formally, best current practice lags behind an Internet standard in terms of validity or applicability.
