Venture capital

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Equity capital is the name given to investments with which investment companies acquire shares in companies and thus participate in their value and success . Unlike outside capital , i.e. loans , equity capital does not have to be repaid. An investment company makes money when the shares that have been acquired can be resold at a higher price.

In addition to a large number of private, profit-oriented investment companies, some also act with a public mandate , such as the investment companies of the federal states or the so-called medium-sized investment companies.

In this branch, which is strongly influenced by the Anglo-American economy, two keywords are used that distinguish different products, markets and customer groups. One speaks of venture capital and private equity .
