Emphasis
Stress denotes:
- in prosody the emphasis in the spoken language in general, see accent (linguistics) , specifically:
- the emphasis within a sentence, see sentence accent
- the natural stress of a word, see word accent
- In verse theory the emphasis according to a metric scheme, see accentuating verse principle , special distinction is made when stress is contrary to a scheme:
- offset accentuation , accentuation reversal against the meter
