Operating experience
An internship in Germany an internship at a company. It is completed in general schools and is considered a compulsory school event. The internship is regulated according to the laws of the federal states. In secondary schools and secondary schools , the internship usually takes place in the 9th grade, often also in the 8th grade. In grammar schools, the internship takes place in the 9th, 10th or 11th grade, with no special regulations. At technical colleges, half of the 11th grade consists of an internship. According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry , an internship of min. 3 weeks and 8 hours a day plus a half hour lunch break.
Goals of the internship
The goals of the internship result from the educational mandate of the schools. The pupils should be accompanied in their first experiences with the world of business and work and supported in their choice of profession. In addition, the taught content should be consolidated and expanded. By working and observing in the company you should experience professional reality and use it to advance your own career path.
Legal
There is statutory insurance coverage for the period of the internship. The internship is not subject to any compulsory social insurance, as no activity for remuneration or the provisions of the training regulations is carried out. There is the possibility of funding from the Federal Employment Agency , which offers career orientation measures for pupils in general schools ( Section 44 SGB III ).
