Beutmeister

Under a Beutmeister (or prey master) is meant by the lansquenets those of an equitable division of the common spoils was responsible.

The booty master was chosen by the community .

Adelung wrote in 1793: In the Lünerburg salt works, to come to the Beut means to follow the Frisch, to come to the division even now, and Beutmeister is a person there who distributes the profit.
