Motion Analysis (Cary Rick)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The motion analysis is a method based on Cary Rick back. She began to conceive this in the 1980s during a critical examination of dance therapy . When he founded the Institute for Movement Analysis in Switzerland in 1994 for training, further education and research, the main features of the method and the curriculum were formulated.

The method

The movement analysis according to Cary Rick documents the body movement as a motor behavior in the interactive and intersubjective life process. Observation criteria that have been specially standardized for this method enable the creation of motoric findings. They record the individually available movement fundus, support the planning and review of interventions and provide a phenomenological basis for reviewing efficiency. In this, observation and analysis manifest themselves directly in the movement script developed by Rick. Their signs classify spontaneous movements as specific motor phenomena within a closed concept of elementary movement skills, which are constitutive for the functional and interactive ability to act.

Fields of application

The method is used in various professional fields: social and special pedagogues, physiotherapists, teachers, psychotherapists, gymnastics and movement pedagogues, psychologists, doctors and psychiatrists.
