Evaluation protocol (archive)

An assessment protocol documents the archivist's assessment decisions when selecting records .

The purpose of the evaluation protocol is to reveal the selection criteria for archive users in order to enable them to assess the source value of the documents.

The following information is recorded in an evaluation log:

  • the body separating the files,
  • time information for the evaluation process,
  • naming of the archivist
  • Scope of the number of files to be assessed,
  • Well-founded evaluation decisions for takeovers as well as for cashings - mostly summarized according to file plan positions
  • Discard list with assessment notes as an attachment
