Tasks and objectives

The BAV are responsible for the organization, operation and maintenance of the waste material collection centers and waste material collection islands in Upper Austria. By law, you have to ensure that the collected household waste, bulky waste, problematic substances, biogenic waste and packaging are properly collected, reused or recycled, or disposed of properly.

In addition, it is the task of the BAV to advise and inform households, businesses and institutions about ways of avoiding waste, separating and recycling waste. To this end, every FOT has waste advisors who provide advice and public relations work (e.g. school visits, trade fair stands, press releases, flyers) to provide information on these topics.

All district waste associations and statutory cities have joined forces with Upper Austria. LAVU AG and the Oö. State waste association united under the umbrella brand "Our environmental professionals".
