Bijdragen tot de Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde (German: "Contributions to languages, countries and ethnology"), BTLV for short , is the title of an oriental magazine. The scientific journal appears quarterly and contains articles by various authors on Southeast Asia and Indonesia as well as book reviews. Her focus is on linguistics , anthropology and history.

The journal published from 1853 by the Koninklijk Instituut voor Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde (German: Royal Institute for Languages, Countries and Ethnology), recently under the name Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies , is one of the oldest oriental journals Magazines of the world.

Originally from 1853 to 1948 it had the title Bijdragen tot de taal-, land- en volkenkunde van Nederlandsch-Indië (ISSN 1383-5408). The journal was founded at a time when it became apparent that not only did the Dutch colonies need a strong army and well-trained officials to control them, but that scientific and practical knowledge of local society was also beneficial.
