Education barometer
Education barometer is an instrument of the Center for Empirical Educational Research (zepf) of the University of Koblenz-Landau , Campus Landau, to record the current situation and trends in the education sector . The results of the surveys are published to the public via print media (mainly Financial Times Deutschland) and television (n-tv), scientific publications and newsletters.
The aim of the education barometer is to gain statements from the population on questions of funding, training, further education and training in the Federal Republic of Germany and to strengthen interest in education by disseminating the resulting results.
The collection of data is carried out with the help of online surveys with at least one thousand people who are representative of the population of the Federal Republic of Germany in terms of gender, age, region and educational qualifications .
The education barometer has been implemented since 2007 in cooperation with Schülerhilfe in Gelsenkirchen. On the occasion of the Year of Mathematics, a separate survey on mathematics was carried out in March 2008. The results can be found in particular from Jäger-Flor & Jäger (2008). The second survey in 2008 deals with the topic of funding in the education system.
