Bink is a video file format ( filename extension .bik) from RAD Game Tools , which, like its predecessor Smacker (filename extension .smk), is mainly used in computer and video games . It has been used in over 5,800 games for PC , Xbox , Xbox 360 , GameCube , Wii , Nintendo DS , PlayStation 2 , PlayStation 3 , Playstation Portable (PSP), and other devices. The format has its own video and audio codecs and supports resolutions from 320 × 240 pixels up to high definition video (HD).

The advantage of Bink compared to other video file formats consisted essentially of the simple operating and programming surface, as well as the low demands on the playback device. Bink therefore required less memory and computing power than other video codecs , but still achieved almost the same quality.
